Performance of large financial groups has weakened in the Nordic countries

Abstract

In early 2008, large Nordic financial groups posted weaker results than before. The decline is primarily due to the negative impact on earnings of the disturbances in the international financial markets. However, Islandic banks' profit performance differed from the rest. Nearterm profit performance is marked by uncertainties.
